As you may be aware, 18 USC § 2258A was passed in 2008 regarding electronic service providers’ requirement to report apparent child pornography to the CyberTipline (this law replaced the previous statute 42 USC § 13032). NCMEC has created a separate, secure website specifically for electronic service providers to comply with 18 USC § 2258A. The secure site allows ESPs to upload any content related to the reported incident to the CyberTipline. When a company submits a report, they will receive a receipt, should they ever need to prove compliance with 18 USC § 2258A.

Please contact the notifications team at espnotifications@NCMEC.ORG to get your company set up with the CyberTipline so that we can provide you with login credentials for the secure site. The process is very simple and entails providing us with basic company information and a point of contact. In addition, establishing a designated point of contact will allow us to notify your company if we become aware of apparent child pornography hosted on your company’s service. This will automate the notification process, allowing for faster response times on both sides.
